Dr. Farrah Russell

Dr. Farrah Russell is a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at the Children’s Hospital of Alabama and the Director of Resident Education for the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Anesthesia at Children’s Hospital of Alabama. Her clinical interests include Transplant Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, and Airway Management. Dr. Russell has a particular interest in health disparities regarding African Americans. As a Pediatric Transplant Anesthesiologist, Dr. Russell became aware of the increased incidence of Pancreatic Cancer in Minorities and through her friendship with Dr. Hebert-Magee, she became interested in the Under The Scope Foundation. She believes that through research, activism, and education these disparities can be significantly impacted. Dr. Russell is a graduate of Dartmouth College. She obtained her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed her Anesthesia Residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Tuft’s Medical University. She completed her Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. She is also the Director of Enrollment of Alabama for Dartmouth College.
